QuickCAD is a very old program but is still used daily by myself and others.

The setup.ini file in this archive has been modified so that it will operate under Windows XP or Vista, but it is very crude.

All relevant dlls and other library files are included in this zip file, so the zip file can just be extracted and QuickCAD.exe will happily run direct from the folder.

INSTALLATION (OPTIONAL)
=======================

The setup.exe program defaults to C:\QUICKCAD as the install path but this can be changed during the installation. If you use the setup routine in Vista, it will need to be 'Run as Administrator'.

If you want QuickCAD to be installed into the standard location ("C:\Program Files\QuickCAD") then change the installation path to :-

C:\PROGRA~1\QuickCAD

However, do note that this very old program will use its program directory as the default location for storing files - it may be better to install to a dedicated data folder.

The library files that previously would be placed in Windows system folders now just get put into the application directory (C:\QUICKCAD or whatever you choose) so there is no alteration to anyone's system other than creating 'All Programs' shortcuts.

UNINSTALLING
============

To uninstall, just delete the QuickCAD Program group and its application directory.

TIPS
====

If you locate a drawing file (*.QCD) and double click it from Windows, you will get the option to associate the extension with QuickCAD. Browse and locate QuickCAD.exe and tell Windows to 'Always use this application to open files of this type' and from that point onwards you need only double-click a QuickCAD file to open it.
